Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Kitak Lim has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Secretary General Lim, who is in Glasgow, Scotland, to attend the two-day summit of world leaders under the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-26) called on Prime Minister Deuba during a sideline meeting today.
During the meeting, matters relating to providing new employment opportunities to Nepalis in the maritime sector were discussed, said Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Poudyal.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba thanked SG Lim for his proposal to provide scholarships to Nepali students for maritime studies in universities and institutes in Sweden and Malta.
