Infrastructure development works to continue even if election

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang has said that the ongoing works relating to infrastructure development will remain unhindered due to announcement of election poll dates.

He said that no development project will be halted due to election and pledged to ensure budget in the under-construction projects.

In a ground breaking ceremony of a bailey bridge in Hewakhola here Thursday, Minister Nembang said that the government was truly conscious not to have impacts on infrastructure development projects even the election preparations. "But, the government agencies are required to increasing the spending," the minister said.

On the occasion, he said that the Tamor corridor of 148 kms will be completed by this fiscal year and expressed the confidence that the road will be the shortest and effective one connecting to the two neighbouring countries.

Chief of the Project Office, Suresh Neupane, said that the total cost of the bridge is estimated Rs 9.67 million and would be completed within three months.
