‘International practice be adopted in framing national security policy’

International affairs expert Geja Sharma Wagle highlighted the need to gradually adopt international practice while framing national security policy.

Wagle said this while imparting on Nepal’s international relations in the changed geo-political situation and effects on national security.

The training was organized at Police Training Academy in Kathmandu to promote conceptual and policy-wise clarity on security, professional knowledge and institutional collaboration.

High-placed security officials, including Inspector General of Nepal Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh and Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal also attended the training programme.

Highlighting the role of all security agencies in framing national security policy, trainer Wagle also discussed about the need of geo-political debate in the context of Nepal.

He had focused his presentation on the Asia and South Asian geo-political scenario, economic forecasting, Asia from economic outlook, data and statistics, Nepal’s geo-political sensitivities and potential geo-political impacts on Nepal. ---
