ISIS Suffers Heavy losses in Syrian Army Counter Attacks in Deir Ezzor

So-called Islamic State (ISIS) launched a massive offensive in the Deir Ezzor Last night, targeting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) controlled Al Mozafeen District and Al Maqabr area. These attacked resulted in large number of casualties in terrorists ranks forced them to withdraw from battlefields.

ISIS began its offensive by storming the small mountain inside the Al-Maqabr area and faces fierce counterattacks by the Syrian Arab Army's Nafez Assadallah Group. Fierce battle lasted for nearly two hours last night.

Islamic State terrorists were unable to penetrate the Syrian Arab Army's defenses and members of the Syrian Republican Guard's "Al-Qassem Group" pushed terrorists back.

ISIS suffered a large number of casualties on the battlefield and forced to withdraw from the area around 11:30 PM Damascus Time.

With intensifying offensive in the Deir Ezzor, it is expected the ISIS to launch more attacks in the coming weeks, as they transfer captured weapons from east Homs to this Desert front, according to AMN reports.
