Journalists’ organizations condemn attack on RSS scribe Karki

Senior report of National News Agency (RSS) Rajaram Karki has been assaulted near Banepa Bus Park at 9:30 am on Sunday.

He was attacked by Uddhav Karki, a teacher at Banepa- based Nepal Police School, of Suryabinayak Municipality-10 of Bhaktapur.

Journalist Karki got head injuries and was admitted to a hospital after the incident occurred.

Likewise, injured Karki has filed an application against the assaulter and police have initiated a search for him, Police Inspector Yogendra Timilsina said.

Meanwhile, different associations of journalists have condemned the incident demanding a swift action against the culprit.

Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ), FNJ Kavre District Chapter, Kavre Chapter of Press Union District and FNJ RSS Chapter have condemned the incident issuing separate press statement today while demanding actions against the culprit.

The FNJ has urged the concerned bodies to create working environment for journalists and manage medical treatment for the injured scribe. The FNJ has also wished for the speedy recovery of injured Karki.
