Karnali Province Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said the population census was crucial to prepare development plans for any nation.
In his address to a programme organised at Birendranagar today to mark the commencement of the '12th national census, 2021', the Chief Minister was of the view that the census carried a significant meaning for the country as it would help identify the real needs of the people and prepare plans accordingly.
"From today, enumerators are coming to your home to collect details about you and your family for the census," he said, urging people to participate in it enthusiastically and provide all details demanded by the demographic survey without any hesitation. "Information and details about any person, family, any firm or company collected during the census will not be disclosed or published as per the Statistics Act -1958," he said.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister supplied the detail of him and his family to Karnali Province Census Officer Pom Narayan Poudel.
