The government has promoted Additional Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Pushpa Ram KC, as its new IGP.
The cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to promote KC to the top position of the APF. Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey presented an insignia to the newly-promoted IGP KC amidst a ceremony on Wednesday.
Pandey congratulated KC and also wished for his successful tenure. Secretary Pandey also expressed commitment to provide support and cooperation to the APF in developing necessary plan for further strengthening the force.
Also speaking on the occasion, IGP KC pledged to work for consolidating organizational command and career development as well as for the empowerment of police personnel during his tenure.
KC had entered the Nepal Police as an Inspector in 2049 BS.
The government decided to promote KC as the APF chief after IGP Shailendra Khanal took compulsory retirement from the APF service.
