Lawmakers have stressed the need for increasing investments in electricity and manage power supply for free to poor people.
Taking part in the deliberations on the Appropriation Bill 2077 at the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, lawmakers asked the government to increase investments in energy sector.
Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Pampha Bhusal argued to manage electricity for free to poor and under privileged community as per the ruling NCP’s election manifesto.
She also suggested the government to review the tax policy on e-vehicles.
Similarly, lawmaker Birodh Khatiwada opined to amend the laws batting for marijuana farming. Khatiwada also suggested the government for updating border pillars.
Also taking part in the deliberation, lawmakers Brijesh Kumar Gupta and Prabhu Sah focused on increasing budget in infrastructure sector. Lawmaker Chhabilal Bishwakarma opined to take stern actions against those involved in Soti Rukum incident. He also asked to manage safety measures and extra allowances to health workers and security personnel.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Dr Minendra Rijal called for making effective policy and programmes to combat coronavirus outbreak.
NC lawmaker Pradeep Giri stressed on making effective diplomatic exercises and lessening Nepal’s diplomatic missions abroad.
