CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has urged the general public to vote for the candidates of the left-democratic alliance stating that it was forged to safeguard the constitution, republic, federalism and inclusion.
Addressing a joint election rally organised by the five-party alliance in the Capital City on Friday, Prachanda expressed the confidence to work for the cause of the country and people while advancing the existing alliance for long.
The Maoist Centre Chairman said records of the massive changes were kept and people's rights were achieved from the collaboration between left and democratic forces.
Likewise, he argued that the alliance was needed to implement the constitution and concldue the remaining job of the peace process.
Publicity campaigns carried out by relating the competent women candidates as someone's daughter and spouse is their disrespect, Dahal opined. "A section of people's effort is to devalue women's strength," he added.
On the occasion, Prachanda argued that massive changes could not take place despite men's regime in the country for long and added that there are limited incidences of corruption and irregularities in the places where women are holding executive post.
Similarly, Dahal was of the view that left-democratic alliance is the most natural one though left alliance was exercised in the past. He also stated that country could not achieve progress during the time of dispute between the NC and communist forces.
"Democracy was restored after the alliance of Congress and communists. Peace process is also signed and constitution is also promulgated through the Constituent Assembly. This all became successful due to collaboration of left and democratic forces. Current coalition is also formed on the same basis," Prachanda briefed the cadres attending the election rally.
