Let’s not take it easy with COVID-19: Deputy Mayor Acharya

Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City’s Deputy Mayor Gumadevi Acharya has urged all Butwal town folks not to take COVID-19 lightly.

Handing over the discharge paper to the person who recovered from COVID-19 and was going to return home, Deputy Mayor Acharya appealed all to be aware and cautious to help prevent and control the deadly infection.

“It is imperative to observe precautions. Once we contract coronavirus, it is not going to be as easy as we thought. This is what the infected ones and the recovered ones have shared with us,” said Acharya.

The Deputy Mayor appreciated Rudra Prasad Acharya’s family from Butwal-13 for treating the COVID-19 infected ones within the family with love and encouragement while cases of COVID-19 patients facing stigmatization were reported in the other parts of the country.

She called for cooperation among the neighbours, kith and kins and town folks in the fight against the pandemic.

Belbot Town Committee Chair Bishnu KC said that the Committee had been lending support to those in need not only at the time of health crisis like this but in the past too.

The Acharya family who recovered from COVID-19 were welcomed by the locals and neighbours by maintain social distance and observing health safety measures. The gesture was aimed at promoting the goodwill for the COVID-19 infected and recovered persons.

As the COVID-19 has spread in the community level in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, the local administration and locals have been congratulating and welcoming infected ones upon their recovery.
