All the nine local levels in Doti district have made provisions for rendering medical treatment services to their citizens at their doorstep.
Dipayal Silgadhi and Shikhar municipalities together with Jorayal, KI Singh, Purbi Chauki, Sayal, Adarsha, Badi Kedar and Bogatan Phudsil rural municipalities have made such provision. These local levels will mobilise separate health teams for providing treatment services to the senior citizens, pregnant women and patients suffering from long-term diseases in their respective areas.
It has already been a month since the local levels started providing free-of-cost health care services to such people.
Jorayal rural municipality chairman Durga Datta Ojha said the local levels in Doti district have started providing treatment service at the doorstep of senior citizens, pregnant women and people suffering from long-term diseases as they are unable to go to the health facility due to the risk of coronavirus infection. Ojha is also the president of the Rural Municipalities’ Federation, Sudurpaschim branch.
“We all the local levels in the district have been providing free treatment service to the needy people since a month back by mobilising medical teams at their homes. This has greatly benefited the pregnant women, senior citizens and the people suffering from prolonged diseases,” he said.
Tej Bahdur Singh of Sayal rural municipality-1 shared that the people suffering from various prolonged diseases as well as the pregnant women have got relief after the local levels made arrangements for providing health check-up service along with medicines at their doorsteps.
“The people suffering from long-term diseases and pregnant women were facing hard time accessing medical care due to the lockdown. Now, it has been very easy for them after the health workers from the rural municipality have started providing health check-up and medicines at their homes,” he explained.
According to Dirgha Raj Bogati, chairperson of Purbichauki rural municipality, the local levels in the district made a common decision to mobilise teams of health workers in every village and locality for providing health check-up services to the needy people. The medical teams are also provided with portable video X-ray machine and other equipment as well as the required medicines.
