Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Parbat Gurung, has urged all states and local levels to fight against coronavirus being united. Minister Gurung drew attention of all states and local levels to make action plan immediately to protect the sensitive class group including women, children, senior citizens and persons with disability from coronavirus.
In a virtual meeting with social development ministers of all states from his office at Singha Durbar today, he said the federal government was ready to move ahead collaborating with states and local levels in order to achieve success in the fight against coronavirus.
The Minister said, ”Let’s carry out activities forming a committee in state-level in state, district-level in district and municipal-level in local levels for the same.” A cabinet meeting held on April 26 had approved the action-plan for the formation of the committee.
He urged the states, district coordination committee and municipals to carry out activities by forming committee within a week as per the action plan.
On the occasion, Social Development Minister of state 1, Jeevan Ghimire, Nardevi Pun of Gandaki state, Sudarshan Baral of state 5, Dal Rawal of Karnali state, Krishnaraj Subedi of Sudurpaschim state briefed Minister Gurung that their respective states have been carrying out activities with high alertness with a focus on women, children, senior citizen and persons with disabilities.
Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Yam Kumari Khatiwada, urged the states and local levels to carry out activities with collaboration to prevent and control coronavirus.
