Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel has spoken of the need to increase use of electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce air pollution.
At an interaction organized here today on the EV, Minister Paudel also underscored the use of EV, stating skyrocketing price of petrol had led Nepal to spend hefty amount of currency annually and that rising global consumption of petroleum products had led to risk of depletion of such natural resources.
The Education, Science and Technology Minister stressed on green development by mitigating negative impacts caused by petroleum products-fueled transport sectors on environment and country's economy as the country annually spends huge chunk of money on import of fossil fuel.
Stating that his ministry was supportive for researches, the Minister expressed his concern over increasing air pollution and urged the researchers to conduct researches on the ways of reducing environmental pollution.
