Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Parbat Gurung has made a commitment to ensure foodstuffs and medicines supplies to the physically-challenged people affected from Covid-19.
At a virtual programme organised by National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal today on the occasion of the 41st Social Service Day, Minister Gurung urged the stakeholders to inform the government about the issues of such people affected from coronavirus infection. He reiterated that social responsibility would be fulfilled also by coordinating with other ministries concerned.
On the occasion, Minister Gurung assured for the implementation of existing Acts, rules and regulations with the lively consultations and coordination of stakeholders and experts of the related field.
Similarly, Ministry’s Secretary Yam Kumari Khatiwada Banskota said that the role of National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal was crucial in the implementation of regulations.
Federation’s Chairman Mitra Lal Sharma said that the government was making efforts to listen to the voices of the physically-challenged people and address them adding that insufficient Acts and laws should be given a completion in future.
