Minister for Energy and Irrigation Barshaman Pun has directed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) not to take additional charge from the customers whose power meter was not recorded due to the pandemic.

Minister Pun made this direction to deputy executive director of the NEA Lekha Nath Koirala and concerned officials to this end today. The Minister invited them at the Ministry to discuss over the issue as most of the meters of consumers and industries were yet to be read due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister Pun took this decision, after receiving several complaints from service recipients. He even urged the NEA to adjust the additional amounts to upcoming charge if they were already charged to the customers.

Minster Pun directed the NEA to manage regular power supply as a large number of students and others service providers are working via online from their respective places.
