Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwar Pokahrel has said that the border dispute surfaced between Nepal and India would be resolved through talks.

While responding to the queries raised under the heading of his Ministry during deliberations on the Appropriation Bill 2077 BS at the  House of Representatives (HoR) today, Minister Pokharel argued that such border disputes could be resolved through diplomatic dialogue and mobilization of Army was not necessary for the same.

Minister Pokharel added that the Ministry was alert on the responsibility of the Army in protecting national sovereignty, territorial territory and maintaining national unity including providing international border security.

He said Armed Police Force has been deputed in border security in coordination with the army following international standards.  He also said that the Ministry was prioritizing the modernization, professionalization and strengthening of the national army.
