The meeting of the National Assembly on Thursday passed a bill to control revenue leakage. The bill on revenue leakage (investigation and control) first amendment presented by Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada on behalf of the Prime Minister was passed unanimously.

Similarly, the NA meeting decided to send Nepal Special Service Bill, 2076 to the legislation committee for clause wise discussion.

Evan a bill on rail service was presented in the Assembly meeting.

Earlier, Finance Minister had responded to the queries raised on the bill relating to the policy and research foundation. He said the issues drawing attention could be addressed with the amendment. The foundation set up with legal procedure would be more sustainable and relevant, he argued.

The bill on the foundation had aimed at making effective the strategic relations, foreign policy and development.

In the zero hour of the NA meeting, lawmakers drew government's attention on various problems facing people in different parts of the country. Elephant menace in the vicinity of Chitwan National Park, excessive expense on purchase of security printing press, rent of public property to serve Yeti company's interest, growing road accidents and need of making bills compatible with the Constitution.

The next meeting of the NA will be held on January 12.
