Nepali Congress (NC) has praised the government efforts initiated to book the wrongdoers involved in manhandling with Rajesh Kushwaha, the Chief of Drinking Water and Waste Management Project Office, Janakpur.
Issuing a press statement on Saturday, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma has said that violation of law and order, coercion and hooliganism could not be the indicators of a civilised society. Raising voices against anomalies in the society and seeking for a clean society is however the responsibility of all, he added.
Sharma further said such an incident is deplorable and the wrongdoers deserve punishment.
The incident taken place in Janakpur has saddened Nepali engineers, officials and all others who have faith on a civilised society.
The NC believes that such issues would be addressed from the state's moves along with the legal actions, Sharma said in the statement.
