An amendment proposal has been registered seeking reforms in the Bill-2076 tabled by the Sudurpaschim state government regarding the management of radio, FM and television broadcasting in the state assembly.

Secretary at State Assembly secretariat Ram Singh Dhami shared that State Assembly member from opposition party Nepali Congress Bharat Bahadur Khadka registered the amendment proposal on the bill at the secretariat.

Shyam Lal Tharu, another assembly from the opposition party, seconded the proposal.

State Assembly member Khadka briefed that the Nepali Congress has registered the amendment proposal since the government-tabled bill has intended to control the media freedom.

It may be noted that Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Prakash Bahadur Shah had tabled the Bill-2076 on the management of radio, FM and television broadcasting in the state assembly meeting on 21 January.
