The main opposition Nepali Congress is to present an amendment to the government’s policy and programmes tabled by the President in the federal parliament on May 15. The party decided to propose amendment after concluding that it does not address the current challenges and is not accountable towards the people.
A decision to this end was taken by the NC parliamentary party today. The NC PP concluded that the policy and programmes has failed to provide any hope and assurances to the people suffering from the impact of Corona Virus.
The meeting of the PP chaired by NC president and PP leader Sher Bahadur Deuba concluded that the policy and programme must give high priority to prevention and control of COVID-19 and treatment of the infected. It also decided to demand with the government to reach relief support to those severely affected by the lockdown including daily wage labourers and workers, students out of their home for study, the sick, physically challenged and helpless person.
