The Secretariat meeting today of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) discussed about the fast-unto-death staged by Dr Govinda KC and other contemporary issues. At the meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, NCP Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the government was serious about protecting the life of Dr KC and the process for a dialogue has been initiated.

The meeting concluded that the problem would be resolved through a dialogue by putting an end to the hunger strike in the current adverse situation of the Corona Virus pandemic. Accordingly, a team led by Education Secretary Gopi Nath Mainali met Dr KC at the TU Teaching Hospital today.

Discussion was also held in general about the appointments to the vacant positions in the Council of Ministers and Constitutional bodies, NCP spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said.
