NCP to build 60 houses for flood-hit families in Lamjung

The Marsyangdi rural municipal committee of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has announced to build 60 houses to the families affected from recent flooding and landslides.

 

The committee decided to construct settlements to the landslides affected people at Tarapu Pallotari village in the rural municipality.

 

Committee’s chair Dhan Singh Tamang said the party cadres and leaders would engage in labor donation for three days to build the houses made up of zinc sheets, bamboo and woods.

 

Party’s ward committees, teachers’ organization and civil servants’ organization are assigned to collect the financial aid to help build the houses to the needy, Tamang shared.

 

Likewise, the federal, state and local governments have been asked to support for the permanent settlement of the affected households.

 

The landslides occurred last Wednesday and Thursday buried 21 houses, eight houses have been damaged while 53 other houses are at high risk. Following the natural disaster, the entire villagers have been displaced from their settlement.
