Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Prabhu Ram Sharma, has clarified that Nepal could not get involved in the State Partnership Program (SPP).

He said, however, the Nepali Army with the consent of the government had written for humanitarian and non-military assistance from USA during the Gorkha earthquake and received the assistance.

In today's meeting of the International Relations Committee, House of the Representatives, he shared that they during the meeting with UA Army Asia Pacific Chief in course of latter’s recent Nepal visit put their clear view that they could not join the SPP.

He went on to say that the 10-point document circulated on social network and some media claiming that Nepal was preparing to sign an agreement in regard with SPP was completely false.

On the occasion, he briefed the Committee about his Lebanon, Syria and US visits starting tomorrow. CoAS Sharma further said that he would not make any agreement during his foreign trips.

According to him, Nepali Army's affairs is guided by country's foreign policy and people's interest.
