Nepal has stock of 20 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19: Health Minister

Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has said Nepal has a stock of 20 million doses of COVID vaccines and asked all who received the second dose of vaccine to receive the third dose as well.

Addressing an event organised by CPN (Unified Socialist) at Roshi Rural Municipality on Saturday, the Health Minister urged the people to receive the third dose of vaccine as the booster after getting the second one.

Minister Khatiwada said that the third dose of vaccine was mandatory as the risk of the third wave of coronavirus infection was increasing in Nepal.

“The risk of the third wave of coronavirus has already increased; maintain the health protocol and receive the vaccine mandatorily,” Minister Khatiwada urged.

Saying that 6,000 vaccination centres are working to administer vaccines at present, Minister Khatiwada informed that such centres would be increased to 19,000 from December 16.

“I request all to visit the health centres for vaccine as we have sufficient stock of (COVID) vaccines.

Khatiwada, also a leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) viewed that all the communist parties except the CPN (UML) would join hands together in the electoral and related political activities. He, however, argued that communist movement was not possible from the UML thus new political party was formed.
