Severe weather, including heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds, have been affecting southern Nepal over the last 24 hours, causing casualties and damage.
As of 1 april at 8.00 UTC, at least 28 people are dead (27 in Bara District and one more in Parsa District) and 612 injured across the same districts (approx. 120 km south of capital Kathmandu). Several roads are blocked by uprooted trees and electricity poles.
Over the next 24 hours, moderate rain and locally thunderstorms are forecast over southern and eastern regions of the country.
