Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has assured that Nepal will not be a laboratory for anyone and it should not be made so.
Inaugurating the Tikapur Sudurpaschim Industrial Trade and Fair and Tikapur Fair organized by Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries at Tikapur, Dang district on Thursday, Minister Bhattarai reiterated, "Nepal should not be made a laboratory and it will not serve as a laboratory for anyone."
Calling for unity among all the political parties for advancing the economic agenda of the country, Bhattarai urged them not to drag Nepal towards chaos and conflict again under any pretext. "We all are united for the development and prosperity of the country. We will not compromise with the donor agencies against the interest of country and countrymen."
Stating that Sudurpaschim Province was an important and historic province in itself, the Minister argued that the Province had embodied the country in it. Drawing attention towards the diverse geographical terrain of the Province, he said," The Province embodies all aspects of the country. It has mountains, hills and Terai region, all rolled within a Province."
Accepting a single-point demand letter handed over by the Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries to resume the Tikapur Airport, he pledged to bring the Airport into operation very soon.
According to him, works relating to Airport would be forwarded after the technical team would conduct a study on the defunct Airport in few days.
He also urged the local units to make master plan and coordinate with the federal government for promoting local tourism in their areas in the context of ongoing Visit Nepal 2020 campaign, which aims to attract as many as 2 million foreign tourists to Nepal.
