New Bridge over Kamala river damaged

The newly built bridge over the Kamala river, linking Siraha to Dhanusa district in the east-west Postal highway has been damaged before it was brought to use. The bridge had been completed and was about to be inaugurated for general use.

However, one of the pillars of the bridge has caved in, said Chief District Officer of Siraha Pradip Kandel. There are twelve span (pillars) in the bridge.

The Pappu Lumbini builders had been awarded the contract to construct the bridge 10 years ago. The bridge is 470 meters long and 11 meters wide.
