Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Parbat Gurung has committed to ending all kinds of violence against women (VAW).
While addressing a virtual meeting on the occasion of Second Women Rights Day on Friday, Minister Gurung argued that the government was addressing all kinds of issues of women including violence against them. The budget of upcoming 2020/21 fiscal year has stated to establish centre of women entrepreneurship and launch campaign to end misconduct, malpractices and social evils at local levels.
The Minister said the policy and programme has incorporated these issues with high priority. He said the government was alert to prevent violence against women and males also should be made aware to make the campaign effective.
Similarly, Nepali Congress leader NP Saud opined that the government should be serious to end all kinds of social evils including violence against women.
Secretary at Ministry, Yam Kumari Khatidawa, argued that the government was formulating policies to participate males in raising awareness to prevent violence against women.
