No coronavirus infection case has been detected in Sudurpaschim State in the last 35 days. First corona virus case was found in the state on March 27. Thereafter five infected were found, who all were discharged after recovery, said the regional health service directorate, Dipayal Rajapur.
However, coronavirus risk has increased due to increasing mobility of people at Nepal-India borders in Kailali, Kanchanpur, Darchula and Baitadi, claimed health workers.
Seti Zonal Hospital, Kailali would be developed as corona dedicated hospital, said the directorate’s director Gunaraj Awasti.
Fifty-six suspected people have been under surveillance at the hospital, said hospital’s information officer Dilip Kumar Shrestha. As three people, who travelled between Kailali and Kanchanpur, have been tested positive for the infection, the state is at high risk due to inflow of people from India through Nepal-India borders, he said.
On Monday a 35-year-old man of Aathbis municipality-1 in Dailekh district was found infected with the virus. Likewise, an 11-year-old girl of Bardiya tested positive to the infection. She travelled between Kailali and Bardiya. She is said to have stayed at her relative’s house for 42 days at Godawari and Bhajani municipalities in Kailali. All people, who had come in contact with the girl, were tested negative for the infection, said the directorate.
