‘No option but to adopt Gandhi’s non-violence and peace path for transformation’

Nepali Congress (NC) Vice-President Bimalendra Nidhi has claimed that there was no option but to adopt Mahatma Gandhi’s path of non-violence and peace for transformation.

At a programme entitled ‘peace for democratic stability’ organized by the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Foundation on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and International Peace Day on Saturday, he said the present change of the country was made possible through the 2007 April Uprising that took the path of non-violence and peace.

The country has come to the present situation when the party that has not faith to the current system of governance won the election in 274 BS, he asserted, sharing that upcoming policy and programme of the NC would be formulated in a way to garner majority in upcoming elections.

Nepal had also contributed to the Indian independence, strong security system and economic development and Nepal has also expected such gesture of cooperation from India, he noted.—-
