Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of State-1, Hikmat Karki, has said none is exempted to protect racial discrimination as it is punishable by law and a crime against humanity.
Receiving a study report from Dalit leaders of the state in relation to six persons who were killed in the Chaurjahari incident in West Rukum district today, the minister said, “The state government has taken zero tolerance against caste-based and racial discriminations and the government has prioritised policies and programmes to rid the state of any kind of discrimination.”
Stating that there would not be political and racial protection for crimes, he pledged to end any kind of discrimination against humanity learning from the incident.
The report prepared by Dalit leaders after carrying out a field study was made public here.
On the occasion, stating that the state government was at work to fight against caste-based and racial discrimination, State Minister for Social Development Jasmaya Gajmer expressed the hope that those involved in brutal crimes in Karnali State would face action.
