Number of infected reaches 4,886 in KMC

The number of people infected with coronavirus is 4,886 in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC). Among the infected, 1262 have recovered while 3,168 are under treatment, KMC said.

Chief of KMC's Public Health Division, Hari Kunwar shared that 471 are undergoing treatment at hospitals while 1,524 are in home isolation and 1,227 are in isolation facilities run by the local levels and organisations. Thirty one persons have succumbed to the infection in KMC, it is stated.

According to him, so far the contact tracing of 10,529 persons has been carried out in all the 32 wards of KMC.

So far the highest number of infected persons has been registered at ward number 15. Four hundred and sixty nine persons have tested positive to the virus in this ward. Similarly, ward no 16 has 366 cases, ward no 3 has 315 cases while the wards 4, 7, 8,9,10,11,13,14, 26, 27, 28, 29, 31 and 32 have more than 100 cases.

The most number of deaths due to COVID-19 has taken place at ward no 27 with four casualties. KMC has mobilised volunteers at each ward at present to expand the coverage of testing for coronavirus.
