One arrested on charge of Madi ‘murder’

Nepal Police have arrested a suspect of ‘Madi’ incident wherein six persons of a single family were reportedly murdered in Umlingkhola village of Madi Municipality-1. The suspect is a relative of the victims, but his identity has not been disclosed for security reasons, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Laldhoj Subedi.

On Monday, six persons of a single family—Tej Bahadur Karki, 52, his spouse Kamala, 52, mother Parbati, 84, daughter-in-law Ranjana, 32, eleven-year-old grandson Dipen and seven-year-old granddaughter Goma—were reportedly murdered. Their bodies were found and recovered scattered in the surrounding of their home.

As hared the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has been investigating into the gruesome murder case. The identity of the suspect will be made public amid a press conference on Sunday, said Subedi. —
