Police have arrested a person originally hailing from Rukum district for his attempt to steal crown from the Narayanhiti Durbar Museum. Investigation to this is underway, according to SSP at Metropolitan City Kathmandu, Ashok Singh.
Initially, the man was taken under control by Nepal Army person as he dismantled the showcase and tried to run away with the crown. The museum stores various valuables including the crown.
Meanwhile, Nikesh Basnet, 30, has been arrested with an object weighed 45-gram and looked like the horn of rhinoceros. Basnet was held from Gaushala, Kathmandu. He currently stays at Lagankhel, Lalitpur Metropolis-6, the police added.
The suspicious object was later handed over to Division Forest Office, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
