With the support from the federal and state governments, the local levels here have been suggested to adopt the policy to prioritize animal husbandry to troubleshoot the problems of unemployment and food insecurity as the crisis caused by coronavirus deepened.
Federal parliamentarian from Dailekh, Rabindraraj Sharma, is working to implement the package to rear buffaloes, pigs and goats in collective in his constituency through budget allocation from the federal government.
He said that budget has been allocated for the fiscal year 2077/078 BS by making package for collective pastoral farming in the local levels of Dailekh district.
Sharma shared that the federal government was likely to allocate Rs 15 million for the animal husbandry in Narayan Municipality.
Such an initiative was forwarded to increase the farmers’ income and make them self-reliant. All 11 local governments in the district would be provided with cash incentive from minimum Rs 3 million from the federal government for collective animal husbandry and commercial vegetable farming.
Lawmaker Sharma also suggested the local governments to identify the pocket areas for the pastoral farming as well.
