Parliamentarians Shrestha, Basnet donate Dashain allowance

A House of Representative member Krishna Kumar Shrestha (Kisan) has announced to donate his Dashain allowance to the kidney patients in Tanahu.

Shrestha pledge to donate the Dashain allowance amounting to Rs 64,000 provided by Parliament Secretariat to four kidney patients in Byas Municipality in the district.

Each kidney patients, Amrit Bahadur Khattri of Byas Municipality-1, Abdul Gaffar Miya of Byas Municipality-4, Anup Chettri of Byas Municipality-12 and Santosh Rana of Byas Municipality-14 would receive Rs 16,000. Shrestha was elected to a HoR member from Tanahu district constituency 1.

Similarly, lawmaker and former minister Mahesh Basnet has donated his Dashain allowance to Bhaktapur Hospital. He handed Rs 65,000 in cash to the hospital development committee chairperson Milan Suwal and medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Sumitra Gautam amid a function at the hospital.

On the occasion, former minister Basnet said the donation would help in the treatment of the poor and helpless patients. Basnet was elected to a House of Representative member from Bhaktapur constituency 2.
