The political parties have whetted discussions on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact. The ruling Nepali Congress held parleys separately with ruling partner, CPN (Maoist Centre), and major opposition CPN UML on Thursday.
Amid differing stand within the ruling partners, the government had tabled the MCC compact at House of Representatives on February 20. The political parties which are against the passage of MCC by the parliament have even resorted to street protest. Although the HoR meeting was scheduled to discuss the MCC compact today, it has postponed at last hour. So, it is now rescheduled for the Friday meeting of HoR.
