People’s Party cancels dinner with PM in protest

nepalnewsgazette.com July 6, 2017     Comment Closed     General

The People's Party on the 6th cancelled a scheduled dinner with Prime Minister Lee Nak Yon in protest over Rep. Choo Mi Ae's comment.

Earlier in the same day, Rep. Choo Mi Ae, leader of the ruling Minjoo Party, criticized the People's Party over the fake tip-off case that raised allegations against President Moon Jae In's son.

Rep. Park Ji Won, and the party's former leader, Ahn Cheol Soo, denied knowledge of the case, but Choo called it a de-heading.

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed the cancellation of dinner.

Some 21 People's Party representatives including Park Joo Seon and Kim Dong Cheol were to participate.

Tonight's dinner was planned to increase communication with opposition parties.

The Prime Minister has invited the Minjoo Party leaders on June 29th and Bareun Party leaders the next day and treated them to dinner.

The Prime Minister is also planning to dine with the Liberty Korea Party leaders at the end of this month.
