People’s Party to Pursue Park’s Impeachment

nepalnewsgazette.com November 21, 2016     Comment Closed     General

The minor opposition People's Party has decided to push for the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye.

Floor Spokesman Lee Yong-ho announced the decision after a meeting of the party's emergency leadership and lawmakers on Monday.

The party decided to cooperate with other opposition parties and lawmakers of the ruling Saenuri Party who support the move to secure the minimum 200 votes needed to pass an impeachment motion.

The People's Party will also cooperate with other opposition parties to have a new prime minister lead a neutral Cabinet.

The party also called on the prosecution to slap a travel ban on the president, to force her to comply with investigations and conduct raids on the presidential office.
