President extends best wishes on RSS’s diamond jubilee

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has opined that the media sector including National News Agency (RSS) should be sensitive and alert on disseminating the news as news have a big influence over the society.

Extending best wishes on the occasion of the diamond jubilee of the RSS here today, President Bhandari has expressed the hope that the RSS will further extend its role and responsibility towards the people and the State by bring out the hidden talent, shedding light on the issues of the national pride and bringing out burning issues of the suvivors, marginalized people and women and children.

In the message, President Bhandari has mentioned that the RSS is firm determined in disseminating fact-based, authentic, trustworthy and accurate news being impartial based on the principle that right information is power.

The message further reads that the RSS was playing an important role in disseminating national and international news including investigative news, commentary, photographs, audio clips along with disseminating State's policy and programmes to the media and people.

President Bhandari has said that the decent language used by the RSS was exemplary to other media as well. She further hoped that the State and concerned sides would pay attention to take the RSS to a new height like other news agencies in the world.
