President Park's official spokesman is calling for patience while the Blue House formulates follow-up measures to Tuesday's official apology.
The president admitted on nationwide television she had received speechwriting help from confidante Choi Soon-sil, which has raised widespread alarm that Choi, a nongovernment official, may have had undue influence on policy.
Spokesman Jung Youn-kuk said Thursday it is necessary to wait for prosecutors to wrap up their investigation of the matter.
He did not offer any comment on opposition party calls for a neutral cabinet to replace existing presidential secretaries.
He also did not indicate whether Choi Soon-sil had any intention to return from Germany to answer questions.
