Prosecutors investigating the Choi Soon-sil scandal are looking into a private meeting President Park Geun-hye held with conglomerate chiefs last year.
Prosecutors said they are questioning a managing director and an executive director of the Federation of Korean Industries regarding the secret meeting held between Park and conglomerate chiefs on July 24th and 25th.
If testimony is secured that the president urged conglomerates to provide funds for the Mir and K-Sports foundations, investigations are expected to target the president soon.
Prosecutors are said to have seized evidence about the meeting from former presidential secretary An Chong-bum, who was arrested last week. An reportedly told investigators that Park summoned seven conglomerate chiefs and called on them to donate funds to the two foundations during the July meeting.
