Prosecutors Raid Ex-Presidential Aide’s Home

nepalnewsgazette.com November 11, 2016     Comment Closed     Human Rights

Prosecutors have raided the home of former presidential secretary for civil affairs Woo Byung-woo.

Officers searched his Gangnam apartment Thursday for evidence connected to the Choi Soon-sil scandal.

Woo resigned over the affair eleven days ago.

Prosecutors suspect Woo may have tipped off the Lotte Group that it was about to become the target of an investigation.

The controversial K-Sports Foundation under Choi Soon-sil's control returned a seven-billion won donation to Lotte Group just a day before prosecutors were scheduled to raid the conglomerate's headquarters.
