The migrant workers currently in different cities of India are desperately waiting for returning home of late. India is a job market for thousands of Nepali youths from the mid and far western parts of in the country, but now they lost employment in the wake of lockdown imposed there to contain COVID-19.
Many of them returning home are stranded at different border points after the government of India and of Nepal abruptly announced border seal owing to a spread of coronavirus.
Keeping it in mind, the local authorities in the district are gradually establishing quarantines for such returnees. About 500 such migrant workers came home so far and 200 are kept in a quarantine set up at KI Singh Rural Municipality.
The local authority has initiated to manage COVID-19 test for new entrants before sending them back home after quarantine stay. All nine local levels have established quarantines for such returnees.
