Registration of candidacies for local level election commences

The registration of candidature for the upcoming Local Level Election, 2079 BS has started throughout the country today.

The Election Commission, Nepal said the registration of candidacy was started from 10 am at the Office of the Election Officer set up at the 753 local levels. The registration of candidacies will be done from 10 am to 5 pm today and tomorrow, the Election Commission said.

The Office of the Election Officer will publish the final name list of candidates on Monday evening itself.

Similarly, as per the election schedule, filing of complaints against the candidates will take place on April 26, verification and scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done and decision taken on the complaints on April 27 and 28, the names of the nominated candidates would be published on April 28, the candidates wanting to withdraw their nomination can do so on April 29 and the final list of candidates would be published on the same day. The candidates would be allocated the election symbol on April 30.

All the works related to the nominations will be done by the Office of the Election Officer concerned, the Election Commission said.
