Rs 1.5 million stolen by breaking NMB Bank’s ATM in Pokhara

Cash amounting to Rs 1.5 million was stolen by breaking an ATM machine of NMB Bank at Arghochowk in Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski, according to the police. The bank has also confirmed the incident.

Money amounting to Rs 1.7 million was put in the ATM the previous day. Only Rs 200,000 was withdrawn by customers. The remaining sum was stolen by thieves who broke open the ATM, it said. The cash box in the ATM machine was recovered late empty at Bichari Chautari at Arghochowk.

Investigations are ongoing and a search for the robber(s) had been launched, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sundar Tiwari, spokesperson for the district police office.
