The Purbanchal University (PU) has conferred the ‘Om Prakash Goyal Gold Medal’ on Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) reporter Sushil Darnal for securing the first position in the Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism in the year 2020.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel and Executive Director of Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology Prof Dr Sanduk Ruit provided Darnal with the gold medal on the occasion of 10th Convocation Day of PU organised here on Sunday.
During the event, a total of 42 students of the PU were awarded the gold medals for securing the first position in different faculties from the year 2016 to 2020.
Darnal, who joined RSS some 13 years ago, is covering social issues in his journalistic writings. Prior to this, Darnal had received several awards and prizes from different social organisations for this contributions to the society through journalism.
