Ruling Lawmakers Positive on Park’s Proposal

nepalnewsgazette.com November 8, 2016     Comment Closed     General

Key influencers from the ruling Saenuri Party are reacting positively to the president's idea of appointing a new prime minister recommended by the parliament.

Former Saenuri Chairman Kim Moo-sung said it's good thing that the president listened to lawmakers and essentially withdrew her earlier nomination of Kim Byung-joon.

Former Saenuri Floor Leader Yoo Seong-min said acknowledging her error of acting unilaterally is a first step in stemming the crisis.

Former Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon expressed hope that Park's visit to the National Assembly Tuesday will lead to a breakthrough, saying matters like transferring power to a prime minister can be handled through discussions between the president and parties.
