Amid political controversy surrounding the Mir and K-Sports scandal, the ruling party is seeking to keep public attention on former Foreign Minister Song Min-soon's memoir.
Saenuri Party Floor Leader Chung Jin-suk on Friday pressured former opposition chief Moon Jae-in to better explain himself in the face of accusations made in the book against him.
Chung pressed the then-presidential chief of staff to come out and clarify if he indeed agreed to check first with Pyongyang before abstaining from the 2007 UN vote on a North Korean human rights resolution.
While identifying the issue as whether the government asked for the North's answer on the foreign policy issue, Chung also called out the former presidential contender, pressing for him to confidently come out with the truth instead of hiding behind his aides.
On the Mir and K-Sports controversy, Chung expressed hope that the prosecution will thoroughly and swiftly probe the case.
