Secondary Education Examination Commences Nationwide with Over Half a Million Students


Kathmandu: This year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has begun today. Examination Controller at National Examination Board, Tuk Raj Adhikari, stated that this year’s SEE commenced at 8:00 am at 1,966 exam centres across the country, including one centre in Japan.



According to National News Agency Nepal, a total of 512,421 students in Nepal and 23 students from an examination centre in Japan are appearing for this year’s SEE, which will conclude on April 12. The examinees consist of 257,613 females, 254,807 males, and seven individuals from the ‘others’ category. Out of the total, 441,566 students are taking the regular examination, while 70,855 are appearing for grade increment.



Province-wise distribution shows that 82,487 students from Koshi Province, 90,243 from Madhes Province, 109,513 from Bagmati Province, 43,972 from Gandaki Province, 91,802 from Lumbini Province, 39,769 from Karnali Province, and 54,635 from Sudurpaschim Province are participating in the SEE.



The examination schedule includes Compulsory English on the first day, followed by Compulsory Nepali on April 3, Compulsory Mathematics on April 5, Science on April 6, Social Studies on April 7, all subjects of optional (I) on April 8, and all subjects of optional (II) on April 9. The exams for all subjects of the technical stream will be conducted from April 10 to April 12.
